Valentine for my Hubby

I made a Valentine for my honey this year. I think cards you buy at the store are so impersonal because all you do is stand there, read a few, and buy the one that's most appropriate. So whenever I can, I try to make cards. The trouble is, they take so long to make, sometimes they never make it to the holiday or occasion, but at least I try. The ribbon hinge holds a bamboo chopstick. The images are mounted on chip board. The images are printed on scrapbook paper, fabric and vellum; some that I've collected from the internet, from vintage postcards and from other cards I've received and saved over the years. The bird pops off the paper with the help of cushions. The sentiment, printed on vellum, was sewn on paper over the other images. To mix it up a bit, I used mini-brads rather than sewing. I used Stitch Witchery to put down most of the images, but you must remember to put the iron on "dry" if you print on an inkjet printer. The bluebird, or swallow, is Balinese batik. And the heart is a plaid button. I love the antique look of the paper and the images. My husband really loved his card and made me one equally nice!
